With the first weekend of games out of the way, we have now got a bit of a benchmark for how the changes teams have made over the summer have manifested themselves. Sometimes it’s the goalies, sometimes it’s the forwards, sometimes it’s the imports, and sometimes it’s the coaches. They all make a difference to the end result, and we have seen the very early indications of those changes.
Anyway, here’s my tips for the second weekend of games.
And so ends the first round of the new AIHL season, with all games (apart from an empty net goal with two seconds to go) separated by just one goal each. If that is the trend for the year, then this year promises to be more competitive than any year before it.
This weekend marks the start of the 2017 AIHL season, so for something different. I’m going to look at each game and try to determine what the outcome will be.
As it is Round 1, there are many unknowns about each of the teams, so these predictions are probably going to be wildly off the mark. By Sunday night, we will know how well I have gone.
It’s been a while since I posted, and I figured I may as well post the released AIHL rosters for all teams for the 2017 season. Each player is linked to his Elite Prospects profile, so you can find out more about each player as you wish.
Without further ado, here are the rosters.
